Tennessee and Virginia Law Firm

Serving clients in Bristol Tennessee, Bristol Virginia, and Abingdon Virginia since 1985

The Bristol law firm of Timothy W. Hudson, Attorney at Law provides experienced and effective legal help to clients in Federal and State courts serving Bristol, Tennessee, Bristol, Virginia, and Abingdon, Virginia.  I also practice in Scott Co., Virginia, Kingsport, Tennessee, Johnson City, Tennessee, Jonesborough, Tennessee, and Greeneville, Tennessee.   As a general practice trial attorney, I focus on a broad scope of legal areas, which includes:

Favorable, prompt, and effective resolution

While all my cases involve litigation, I strive to settle your case as quickly as possible so you can get on with your life. Settling favorably and avoiding trials save time, money, and overall stress. I settle most cases out of court through mediation or negotiated settlements. However, if your case requires aggressive litigation, I have 35 years of proven experience winning in court.

Past clients, other attorneys, and even former adversary parties refer to me those who are seeking a reliable, knowledgeable, and effective trial lawyer.  My clients come from all walks of life, and some of my cases have been high profile.

Client-oriented service

I do my best to take intimidation out of the legal process, make you feel comfortable, and customize legal efforts to meet your needs. Whether you need a lawyer to handle your divorce, to win compensation for your personal injury, or to protect your rights in a criminal or civil case, I can help.

Get legal help

  • Divorce and family law: Every case is different.  I need to meet with you personally to learn your unique circumstances, explain the process, plan a strategy for a favorable outcome, and estimate fees.  I have 35 years of legal experience.  Accordingly, I charge a modest initial consultation fee in divorce and custody cases.  If you and your spouse are in 100%  agreement over every aspect of your divorce, a competitive flat fee to process your  divorce can be quoted at the consultation.  If there is not agreement, which is the more frequent case, please ask me during the consultation about important tips on how to reduce the required deposit and hourly legal costs.  Some people aren't sure they want to file yet.  You will not be pressured into filing if you are not ready.  When you are ready and able to hire me, I will act promptly, and aggressively when necessary, to advance and protect your interests.
  • Injury cases:  Fees for cases involving social security disability, personal injury, or wrongful death are contingent on recovery. For such cases, I offer a free initial consultation at no obligation.
  • Criminal cases:  I charge a modest consultation fee which will be applied to the fee I quote you if you decide to hire me.
  • Other cases:  I charge a modest consultation fee which will be applied to the fee I quote you if you decide to hire me.
